I know we're a little early but we've so much to tell you about we couldn't wait. So, here goes. Coinciding with a charity dinner featuring the World of Groggs, we are delighted to announce that our book is finally finished and we hope will be launched at the dinner on September 5th. The dinner has been arranged to raise funds for the Noah's Ark appeal to build the first children's hospital of Wales. Already a sell-out, we hope to auction some special Groggs on the night, so fingers crossed.

The book, written by John Hughes and Alan Evans, charts the early years of the Groggs right through to the latest Grogg to be made, spanning our 37-year history. A must for all grogg fans, please make sure if you want a first edition signed copy, let us know as soon as possible.

We're pleased to announce the winner of our website competition. Out of the many correct answers we received, (Barry John is Scott's uncle), Edward Williams of Llandeilo, Carmarthen was drawn out of a hat by John Hughes. Well-done Edward! Look out for a new competition coming soon on www.groggs.co.uk

Back in Ponty colours at last!

On the Ponty front, we were delighted to welcome home our prodigal son Neil Jenkins. To mark this auspicious occasion we have taken 50 of the Limited Edition 1000 points figures to be painted in Ponty kit with the inscription, "He's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming - Jinks is coming home." Again, with only 50 being made, please let us know ASAP if you're interested, as many have already been ordered.

The Ponty Cup Winners double figure of Dale and Paul with the cup is now available priced £89.95. Only 125 will be made so don't miss out! The first edition has been reserved and will be auctioned at Jason Lewis and Matthew Lloyd's final testimonial dinner. Like most of the town, we were delighted to here of Duncan Bell's decision to stay with Ponty allowing us to make the "Pontypridd Front Row" in time for Christmas.

Left & Right: Gareth Llewellyn with his Testimonial Figure

Talking of testimonials, The Gareth Llewellyn Testimonial Grogg is now available priced at £24.95. As with our other testimonial figures it will only be available during Gareth's testimonial season, after which the moulds will be destroyed. The figure is available through Gareth himself, Neath R.F.C. or from us directly. We'd like to wish Gareth all the best for his testimonial, as Wales' most capped forward we feel he thoroughly deserves it.
As promised, we guaranteed to make the 1000th. Capped Welsh player whoever it was and of course we were delighted when Ponty's own Michael Owen became the "Millennium Man" in South Africa. Michael has duly been Grogged and will be available soon in the Millennium Mini set, priced £24.95. Other players in the pipeline are Craig Morgan, Ceri Sweeney and Sonny Parker. We would like to congratulate the Welsh boys on their performances in South Africa. We feel they were very unlucky not to at least draw the series.

John has also been busy, besides writing and is slowly creating his own "Noah's Ark", especially his new super sheep, proving very popular.

Away from Rugby, making a welcome return to our Limited Editions is the large 16" John Wayne, which has been remodelled to include much more detail. Limited to 100 pieces only, it is priced at £295.

We have also received three great new additions to our shirt collection. Thanks to Dale McIntosh for his Principality Cup Final shirt and Paul John for his Parker Pen Final shirt and, best of all, Phillipe Carboneau's shirt from the infamous "Battle of Brive", once again, thanks to Paul.

We have also been having a clearing out of old moulds and have filled two skips full, saying goodbye to a lot of old figures. Again this ensures that where they exist, these figures are becoming highly collectable, so keep your eyes peeled!

Justin Burnell the newly appointed Director of the Pontypridd R.F.C Rugby Academy.
