On the 5th. September 2002 a dinner was held in our honour at the Vale Hotel. This special occasion to celebrate our 30th. anniversary was organised by "Buy As You View" and was in aid of "The Noah's Arc Appeal". The evening was a tremendous success, raising £10500 on the night for the Children's Hospital of Wales.

A special Limited Edition of 30 Lions Neil Jenkins figures with the No. 15 shirt were raffled on each table and the reserved numbers: 1, 10, and 15 were auctioned later, each raising £500 per piece. As you've probably realised these are some of the rarest production pieces we've ever made. The first of two big auction items was the last available No.30/30 'Hand-Off' Gareth Edwards. Originally intended to be kept by us for our museum, it raised £1'500. The main attraction, ofcourse, was once again Neil Jenkins and the final item for auction was 'The Return of the Prodigal Son' bust of Neil in the current Pontypridd Cantebury strip. This item was finally bought by the High Sheriff og Glamorgan, Mr. Gerald Coleman of Buy As You View for £2000.

Our biggest thrill was seeing so many of our old friends and heroes, including; Phil Bennett, Ray Gravel, Graham Price, Neil Jenkins, Steve Fenwick, Ieuan Evans, David Pickering, Terry Cobner, Dale McIntosh, and J.J. Williams. Our only disappointment was not having the opportunity to invite more of our friends and collectors but the 270 seats were sold out over night. The speakers were all excellent, David Watkins, Nicky Piper, Edie Avoth making after-dinner speaking debut and last but definately not least, Brian Voyle-Morgan. Thanks again to them all. Special thanks must be extended to Maurice Padfield of Buy As You View, who's organisation was superb and to our old friend Rupert Moon, who's brilliant auctioneering skills certainly helped raise the bidding on the night. Rupert has also given us a lovely mention in his recently published autobiography "The Full Moon". Signed copies of "The Full Moon" are available at the Groggshop.

Talking of books, we are delighted to announce that signed first edition copies of "Feat of Clay", our own little autobiography, are now available exclusively from the Groggshop priced £7.95.
On the Pontypridd scene, after a tremendous first half of the season, we are delitghted to announce that we have finally finished the whole team that won the Principality Cup last year. This is a momentus occasion for us being only the second time we have made an entire team that actually played together and the first time we have made a complete club side. The other team was ofcourse Graham Henry's 1999 Wales team. The big relief was Duncan Bell deciding to stay with us allowing us to make our 'Awesome Threesome', the Pontypridd Front-Row. The Boys came in to pose for their Grogg and almost filled the shop. They were delighted with the finished product, which is a Limited Edition of 300, now available at £89.95.Other new Ponty mini's now available are: Brent Cockbain, Sonny Parker, Robert Sidoli, Nick Kelly and Matthew Nuthall. Craig Morgan of Cardiff and Wales is also available in the 6" collection.

Finished, at last, is the 9" Limited Edition of Welsh legends, Allan Martin and Geoff Wheel. Limited to only 300 pieces it is priced at £150. The completion of this long awaited piece now leaves us with only one player left to complete the the awesome Grand Slam side of 1976. See if you can guess who it is.

We are also delighted to have completed the special commemorative 30th. Anniversary figure of the monumental Scarlet's captain, Delme Thomas, being raised aloft in triumph after beating the mighty All Blacks in 1972. Limited to only 93 pieces (to reflect the famous score line of 9-3).Priced at £99.95 this is once again limited to a very low number so try not to miss out.
In August we made an exception to our 'No Portraits' rule, but in a very special cause. The Ginger Monster, A.K.A. Andrew Harry, Pontypridd R.F.C's best known fan turned 30 and was duly Grogged, complete with inflatable sheep and Ponty kilt. Andrew was over the moon with his special presentationwhich was long overdue as the'monster' is surely the most recognised rugby supporter in the world.

Our leader, John has also been busy adding to his ever-growing set of Groggy Animals, including a Taff Hippo, The Dog with Two Tails, a Golfing Dragon and just in time for Christmas was a Father Christmas Dragon!

On the Football scene, we remodelled Wales' soccer supremo Mark Hughes just in time for their amzing result against world soccer giants Italy, in Cardiff. Sparky is available in the 9" Soccer Greats set at £49.95 in Man Utd. kit and £59.95 in Wales strip.

Many Thanks to Pontypridd's player of the year, Jonny Bryant for donating his Parker Pen Sheild Final shirt to our memorabilia collection. This now also includes an Oasis Citrus Punch bottle collected from Neil Jenkins on one of his recent visits to the shop! We have also recently acquired a life size cardboard cut out of Neil auctioned in the recent Ty Hafan Appeal, which is now on permanent display in the shop. So, if you ever want your photo taken with Neil you know where to come.

Last but not least we would like to launch a desperate appeal on behalf of one of our collectors for a missing Grogg. Mr. Rogers of Llanelli has almost every Welsh figure we've ever made except for Derwyn Jones, Cardiff's current team manager. Derwyn was Grogged back in 1995 but his mould was recently destroyed in our last mould clearout. If anyone out there has a Derwyn Grogg they are willing to part with, please let us know and we will pass on the information.
