Catherine Jane Hughes the youngest of John’s children was born at home at 26 Llantwit Road also the birthplace of the Groggs. Like her siblings she attended Parc Lewis Primary, then finally Hawthorn High School.
Catherine worked from a very young age with her father serving in the shop on Saturdays for pocket money. Although Cathy briefly worked in Cardiff as a hairdresser, she returned to the bosom of the family business where she spent a longtime painting and glazing, but now works in the shop.

Favourite Music Artist: ‘Prince & U2 but I like a varied amount of music. Huge Bowie fan throughout my childhood.’
Favourite Album: ‘Joshua Tree-U2, especially classic tracks Running to stand still and Red hill town.’

Favourite Food: ‘Hot Curries, Italian food and spring rolls from the Happy Gathering.’
Favourite Sporting Moment: ‘Pontypridd beating Llanelli in the Millennium Stadium 2002. This again is hard to narrow down as I’ll never forget beating the London Irish at the Kassam Stadium and the Saracens at Watford, also Wales defeating England at Wembly cannot be excluded. Winning the 2005 Grand Slam’

Carly Hughes is Catherine's only child, born on the 9th of July 1986, brought up in Penarth, before moving back to Pontypridd age 8. It was then that she began supporting Pontypridd RFC. Following in her mum's footsteps Carly attended Parc Lewis and Hawthorn High, leaving school at 16 to work in fashion retail. Carly then started working for the family business full time in 2004 mainly working on the website and graphics, in 2007 Cathy and Carly began running front of shop together.

Favourite Sporting Moment: ‘Any Ponty Cup wins, especially 2002. The atmosphere back at Sardis was indescribable. Been as I didn't experience the 76 and 78 Grand Slam like the others I'm so glad to have seen the 2005 and 2008 Slam's!'
Favourite Try: 'Gethin's charge down Try against Ireland for the Slam 2005, classic'
Favourite Place: ‘Either at home with my boyfriend Simon and cat Milo or at Sardis with the Ponty fans.’
