On the 8th of October at Westpac stadium in Wellington, New Zealand, Wales played Ireland in the quarter finals of the 2011 Rugby World Cup. For Alun Wyn Jones it was to be a day he would rank as one of his most memorable played in the red shirt of Wales.
In a performance considered by many as one of their greatest at a Rugby World Cup, Wales ran out winners in an epic encounter, 22 points to 10, shattering a strongly fancied Ireland’s World Cup hopes.
When asked which Welsh strip Alun-Wyn would prefer to be represented in for this unique Welsh Grogg the great man had no hesitation and chose this famous Celtic clash as a personal highlight in his long and illustrious international career.
