In celebration of Jamie Roberts’ much deserved Testimonial Year, the World Of Groggs have created this unique, fully logoed figure of Jamie Roberts.
The Grogg depicts Jamie wearing the strip he wore while defeating England in the historic win at Twickenham in the RWC 2015 group stages on the 26th of September 2015. England were overwhelming favourites to qualify for the knock out stages of the World Cup they were hosting but on that momentous night Wales had other ideas. England were leading by a comfortable 7 points going into the last quarter and Wales had emptied their bench due to a disastrous series of injuries which left the scrum half Lloyd Williams playing on the wing. Ironically it was his cross kick which set up Gareth Davies’ try under the posts which levelled the match and Dan Biggar’s incredible penalty from the half way line which gave Wales the victory.
This win has been hailed as one of Wales greatest away victories and ranks up there with Wales’ nail-biting victory in Wembley 1999 and the famous “Better Than a Slam” home win over England in 2013.
Jamie has chosen this particular strip as it represents for him one of the highlights of a long and illustrious career with Wales which has seen him play for his country 94 times including two grand slams and three six nations titles. Jamie is a true legend of Welsh rugby.
As a celebrity ambassador for Noah’s Ark Jamie is kicking off a year of events to celebrate his rugby career and raise money for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity.
