My father raised us on stories of our coal mining relations, who lived and died in the collieries of South Wales. Over twenty years ago I used those stories to create the Land of my Fathers range of mining figures, all based on real characters from our family. One story that has always stuck in my mind was about the miners, covered in coal dust first visiting the pub on the way home, before washing in their tin baths in front of the fire. The image of these tough, hard grafting men, enjoying a pint before returning home has inspired me to make a new addition to our collection. It’s based on the words, my father told me, as the miners toasted each other with a pint ‘One for the dust, one for my thirst and one for me!’

This miner, complete with his hard earned pint and clay pipe, is one of the latest pieces added to our mining collection in over two decades. He stands at 9.7″ tall

Delivery Information

DELIVERY (Mainland UK) – Providing your order is in stock (personalised inscriptions take 1-2 working days) and is placed before 2pm, we will send it out on a Next Day Delivery service via our courier DX. They provide customers with a 2 hour slot for delivery, you should receive this information by email/text message on the morning of expected delivery. You can also arrange delivery for a more convenient day or deliver to a neighbour via their website.
Please make sure you have supplied us with a delivery address where someone will be available to receive the parcel Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm. There are no weekend or Bank Holiday deliveries.
Smaller ‘Gift Shop’ items might be sent via Royal Mail services, this is usually on a Tracked 24 service and takes 1-2 days depending on when it is ordered.

DELIVERY INTERNATIONAL – Providing your order is in stock we will send it with the best courier for your country within 1-5 working days, delivery can be anything from 5-7 working days, but this is subject to customs etc so please allow more time. *Please be aware as of December 2024 we are no longer able to send to Ireland (Northern or Republic) or into the European Union due to regulations imposed (GPSR), many apologies.
