Thanks for the memories Gareth When my friend Les Miles told me about a very young talent called Gareth Bale he assured me that one day we would be making a Grogg of him as he was destined to become a true great of Welsh football. Even at the tender age of 16 Les had spotted something special in Gareth and of course he was right. It wasn’t long after that conversation that the first Gareth Bale Grogg was made. Shortly after, Gareth visited us at the Shop to collect his Grogg and sign the Wall of Fame where he presented us with two of our most prized shirts, one Spurs and one Wales, which have pride of place in the shop. Not long after his visit he made his world record move to Real Madrid from Spurs. However, Gareth never lost his connection with Wales and their fans, going on to become the most capped Welsh footballer of all time and the record goal scorer for his country. It has been a privilege to watch him play and lead his country.
A true legend of Welsh football who has been an inspiration to a generation of young Welsh children determined to follow in his footsteps.
